TEASER: Rough cut is UP!
Consider it version 1… still in beta.
I still have to finish the most important shot that is still missing at the moment… which is of course, the character introduction. I can tell you this. It will probably come as a big surprise. Hopefully, I can get the two explorers designed in the next week or so…

Sweet man, how did you create the shot of the earth.
great work….

Well, Shane… That’s a very good question.
What a surprise to find you here.
What are the odds.
Which shot of the earth are you referring to?
The first shot is a CG sphere with a texture made from photos. The glows and stuff were added with After Effects.
Now the second shot of the earth… well, that’s a little bit trickier, but still the same basic idea.
But now that you meniton it… it would be cool if I created a little movie explaining the process, wouldn’t it?
Good idea.

I would like to see a movie of that. Maybe from wire frame to final render or something… (by the way I like the new blog style)

Also, are all the trees and forest cg in the final shot, or photos?

They are a mixture… sort of.
Much easier than you’d expect probably.
I’ll post some pics.

BTW, not sure if you’re checking this consciously…
but you might want to look at the RSS feeds for both comments or posts.
If you click on the RSS feed for all comments, and drag that page onto your bookmarks bar, it will notify you if any new posts are made. Kinda like mail.

Need a composer? I think it would be fun to write a score for your serial. I am sure you have had lots of offers in that department. But hey, who knows. I’d do it for the sheer fun of doing it.

Hi Kevin. Wow. That’s incrediby gracious of you to make that offer.
Right now, I’m still focused on writing and designing the show, but when the time comes that I need custom music, you’ll be the first I contact.
It’s very nice work you have on your site. What do you use to create your music?

It’s my pleasure man, I think you do some great work! I use Sibelius to notate my music and use either Kontakt or Garageband for the music production.
My email address is on my site, feel free to contact me there…I don’t surf the web as often as I’d like to.
Keep up the good work!!
